Furna
Year
2020 - 2021
Furna is a subsidiary company of SnapPea Design that aims to solve various problems that vaporizer users face, such as portability, limited versatility, difficult cleaning, and packing. It was exciting working with a company invested in revolutionizing the future of cannabis tech.
Destigmatizing cannabis

My role
As a visual design intern at SnapPea Design, I led the design and marketing campaign of the Furna Vaporizer launch. Over the course of 5 months, I worked alongside a senior and junior designer. I worked on numerous projects centred around de-stigmatizing cannabis, increasing brand and product awareness. Including (but not limited to!) market research, design asset creation, and content creation.
The key problems
Low brand awareness + followers
Furna faced a challenge of limited brand recognition and a modest customer base, illustrated by a mere 250 followers on social media platforms. Given the imminent launch of the Furna Vaporizer, this low level of engagement posed a significant risk to the company's success potential.
Our goal
This project aimed to enhance brand awareness and expand the customer base for Furna, which initially had around 250-300 Instagram followers at the start of the co-op term, necessitating rapid and effective strategies to establish brand presence and customer relationships, particularly with the impending official launch and the overarching goal of maximizing social media traction.
Customer Journey Map
A customer journey map was created to understand the customers journey from their research stage to their product post use experience. This research helped identify key emotions, thoughts, and tasks that influenced our marketing strategy.

How I grew as a designer
☺︎
Following this project, I began incorporating user data into the design process, adopting a dual perspective as both a designer and an audience member.
User first.

I now recognize the significance of accessibility in design and prioritize inclusivity in all my design work.
